The Official Gazette of the Canary Islands (BOC) has published the call for these grants, aimed at the self-employed, mutualists, and members of commercial, labor, or civil societies operating in the archipelago. Applications will be accepted until October 31, 2026, or until available funds are depleted.
Vice-president and Minister of Economy, Manuel Domínguez, highlighted that this initiative is pioneering and demonstrates the Government's commitment to the self-employed. The Canary Islands currently have over 147,000 self-employed workers.
The program is divided into three main lines. The 'Concilia 2' modality finances the permanent hiring of support staff for childcare, elder care, or dependent care, with grants of 7,500 euros, extendable to 9,000 euros for priority groups. The contract must be maintained for at least twelve months.
The 'Concilia 1' line facilitates business continuity during temporary absences of the self-employed due to maternity, paternity, adoption, or risks during pregnancy/breastfeeding. Aid can reach 1,100 euros per month for up to twelve months, or up to 8,800 euros in cases of risk. If the replacement contract becomes permanent, access to 'Concilia 2' grants is possible.
Meanwhile, 'Concilia 3' covers up to 75% of expenses for nurseries, day centers, or work-life balance activities during non-school periods, with a maximum of 3,000 euros per beneficiary.
To apply for these grants, self-employed individuals must have their fiscal domicile in the Canary Islands, conduct their business in the islands, and be up-to-date with their tax and Social Security obligations. The aid is retroactive for expenses incurred since October 18, 2025. Grants will be awarded on a first-come, first-served basis until funds are exhausted.
