The public company Visocan has commenced the handover of the first protected homes in Finca Amado, located in the municipality of Breña Baja, La Palma, by signing lease agreements with the beneficiary families.

This initiative by Viviendas Sociales e Infraestructuras de Canarias SLU (Visocan), an entity under the Government of the Canary Islands, brings into use 42 properties designated for affordable rental. These units contribute to the protected housing supply at a time of high housing demand on the island of La Palma.
The complex, which was previously used for tourism and had been abandoned, underwent refurbishment and rehabilitation with an investment of one million euros. The allocation process adheres to criteria established by the Government of the Canary Islands, including verifying the applicants' needs to ensure proper use of the public housing stock.
The 42 residential units in the complex are one-bedroom apartments, ranging from approximately 40 to 65 square meters. They are designed for family units of up to three members, ensuring appropriate occupancy and meeting the actual needs of the beneficiaries. These properties are integrated into the housing portfolio managed by Visocan, offering suitable living and functional conditions.

"The handover of keys to the first families marks the beginning of a key phase in this residential project, which will progress gradually until the full allocation of all homes is completed, always under criteria of transparency, objectivity, and administrative rigor."
