A total of 17 workers are participating in the 'Memoria Viva 2025' employment plan, an initiative by the Fuerteventura Island Council aimed at the conservation and rehabilitation of heritage sites throughout the island. Current tasks focus on the old unitary school in Tesjuate and other locations in the municipality of Puerto del Rosario.

The president of the Fuerteventura Island Council, Lola García, and the area's counselor, Nuria Cabrera, highlighted the investment of over 472,000 euros allocated to this plan, which seeks to preserve the island's memory and identity. To date, nearly twenty sites have been intervened, including museums and cultural centers.

The plan, developed in coordination with Fuerteventura Museums and with the collaboration of local councils, has worked on the Tesjuate school, completing exterior painting and perimeter walls. Currently, restoration of deteriorated facades, structural consolidation of walls, gardening, and environmental cleaning are being addressed, along with interior painting tasks.

In Puerto del Rosario, actions will also include the rehabilitation, cleaning, and painting of the Casillas del Ángel wrestling arena to prepare it for use. These interventions are part of the approximately twenty actions planned across the island.
