Argentine cumbia band Ráfaga will perform a concert on September 5th as the highlight of the Nuestra Señora de La Antigua 2026 Festivals, taking place from August 24th to September 8th in Antigua, Fuerteventura.

The Government of Antigua has officially unveiled the program for the Nuestra Señora de La Antigua 2026 Festivals, an event scheduled from August 24th to September 8th. The celebration will offer a diverse range of sports, musical, and leisure activities for all ages, with the concert by the renowned Argentine cumbia band Ráfaga as the main attraction.
Mayor Juan Cabrera emphasized the historic and participatory nature of the program, expressing gratitude for the efforts of the Fiesta Commission, chaired by Rodrigo Carreño Franquiz. "We have secured a top-tier concert," stated Cabrera, referring to Ráfaga's performance on Saturday, September 5th, following the Tribute to Mecamela concert. The mayor extended an invitation to all residents of the municipality and the entire island to join these festivities, which are considered a benchmark in Fuerteventura.
For her part, the Councilor for Festivities, Lucila Ruiz, highlighted the 17 days of planned fun and good community spirit. The program includes the revival of traditional events, greater focus on activities for young people, and a historic opening speech on August 28th by parish priest Isidoro Sánchez López. Ruiz also mentioned the preparation of a special song for the patron saint during the romería and a youth concert by Muchachitos del Swing on September 4th.
The Fiesta Commission has incorporated events such as the Brotherhood Meal, romería, offering to the Virgin, tribute to Canarian wrestling, escala en-hifi, rally, fireworks, the dawn serenade with the Band of Agaete, traditional bell ringing, religious service, procession, and toast of honor. These traditional activities are complemented by new additions like cockfighting, sports competitions, an 80s concert, and the grand party on September 7th.
