The Gran Canaria Island Council will tender the expansion and improvement of the GC-211 road in Teror by the end of the year, with an investment exceeding 3.5 million euros.

The Gran Canaria Island Council has presented the project for the improvement and expansion of the San José del Álamo road, the GC-211, over a 4.5-kilometer stretch. The works, aimed at addressing deficiencies in the road surface, barriers, alignment, and signage, are scheduled to commence in early 2027. The Public Works Service is already working on the tender for these tasks, which will have a budget exceeding 3.5 million euros.
The project includes a comprehensive rehabilitation of the road surface, the replacement of safety barriers with ones that comply with current regulations, and the improvement of the road's alignment by demolishing existing ditches to widen the carriageway. The horizontal and vertical signage will also be revised and renewed. These actions will require the construction of reinforced masonry walls at specific points.
The work will be carried out in two phases. The first phase will affect the section between the junction with the Teror road (GC-21) and the entrance to the San José del Álamo village (kilometer 2.9 of the GC-211). During this phase, the road will be completely closed for several days, requiring residents to access San José del Álamo via the GC-21 and El Molino street in Miraflor.
