The Canarian Lateen Sailing Federation of Boats has drawn the calendar for the 2026 Aguas de Teror Championship, the most significant competition of the season, now in its eighth year of sponsorship.

The event, held at the Teror Tourist Interpretation Center, in the Plaza de Nuestra Señora del Pino, brought together institutional representatives, sponsors, and fleet members. The presentation was led by Mario de la Santa, the Federation's communications director.
Notable attendees included José Agustín Arencibia, mayor of Teror and councilor for Aguas de Teror; Sergio Nuez, first deputy mayor and president of Aguas de Teror; Lorena Hernández, general director of Native Sports of the Government of the Canary Islands; and Manuel Farías Barrios, president of the Federation. All emphasized the championship's importance as a central pillar of the Canarian Lateen Sailing season.
The draw established the order for the race calendar. Spar Guerra del Río secured number 11, followed by Unión San Cristóbal Restaurante Los Botes with 10, and Villa de Teror Munchitos with 9. Other boats such as Portuarios Puertos de Las Palmas (8), Porteño Siscocan Sabor a Gloria (7), and Villa de Agüimes Ybarra (6) also learned their positions.
The first day of the Aguas de Teror Championship already has its pairings defined. Disa Roque Nublo ULPGC will compete against Hospital La Paloma Pueblo Guanche, while Unión San Cristóbal Restaurante Los Botes will face Viajes Insular Arenales Canaluz. Minerva Idamar will rest on this initial date.
The 2026 Canarian Lateen Sailing season will kick off this weekend with the Port Authority Opening Contest – Las Palmas Port Foundation, the first event of the Gran Canaria Cabildo Cup, scheduled for Saturday at 5:00 PM. However, the race's celebration is pending the evolution of weather conditions, which are currently unfavorable.
