The renovation of Teror's Emblematic Hotel, located in the Plaza del Pino, is entering its final stage, with the City Council expecting to receive the completed work this summer for subsequent tender and operation.

The Teror City Council aims for the Emblematic Hotel, situated in the central Plaza del Pino, to be operational by the end of this year or early 2027. The local corporation expects to take possession of the completed work during the summer, after a project modification extended the original construction timelines.
Currently, efforts are focused on furnishing the hotel. A decision was made to combine antique pieces from the historic Casa de los Hernández with new items specified in the contract with the interior designer. The intention is to tender the management of both the hotel and its restaurant by year-end, drawing inspiration from successful models implemented in towns like Gáldar or Arucas.

"Our intention is that by the end of the year we can tender the management of the hotel and the restaurant, inspired by the models implemented in Gáldar or Arucas."

The restaurant, located on the ground floor of the building, will not only serve guests but also offer its gastronomic proposal to visitors of Teror. The transformation work to convert the old building into a leading accommodation facility for the municipality began in January 2024. Although initially estimated for 10 months, various setbacks have prolonged the construction for over two years.
One of the main challenges was the need to reinforce the building's structure. A geotechnical study revealed the importance of introducing micropiles into the foundations to consolidate the building, causing a significant delay in the schedule. The hotel will feature seven rooms and one suite, in addition to a solarium, spread over 820 square meters across three floors, with views of the Plaza de Nuestra Señora del Pino and a connection to Calle La Mina.
The investment in the renovation amounts to 959,992 euros, largely financed by the Cabildo's Department of Tourism, within the framework of the Canarian Strategy for the Improvement of Tourist Public Spaces, with a complementary contribution from the Teror City Council. Additionally, 260,170 euros were allocated for furniture and equipment. This project aims to replicate the success of the Teror Tourist Interpretation Center and meet the demand for accommodation in the historic center.
