The festival, marking its thirtieth anniversary, will take place at the Plaza de Sintes with the participation of Canarian and international artists. The main novelty this year is the inclusion of a day dedicated to youth, promoted by the Department of Education and Youth of the Cabildo de Gran Canaria through the Gran Canaria Joven program.
This youth day, scheduled for Friday, July 24th, from 11:00 AM onwards, is aimed at individuals aged 18 to 30 and will feature workshops, associations, exhibitions, screenings, dance performances, and musical acts. The Cabildo has allocated 35,000 euros to this special edition, aiming to transform the festival into a more participatory, educational, and multicultural experience for young people.
To facilitate attendance for young people from across the island, the Department of Education and Youth will provide free round-trip transportation to Teror, upon prior registration on the Gran Canaria Joven website. The Councilor for Youth of the Cabildo, Olaia Morán, emphasized that the festival showcases the island's cultural diversity as an opportunity for young people, advocating for spaces where youth take center stage.
The festival's international gala will be held on Saturday, July 25th, headlined by Peruvians Tony and Mimy Succar, Grammy winners, who will perform at 10:00 PM. The orchestra Tromboranga, originating from Barcelona and known for its powerful trombone section and homage to 1960s and 70s New York salsa, will also perform.
Before the main concerts, starting at 7:00 PM, local dance academies such as Paso a Paso Las Palmas and La Golosina will liven up the evening. The night will conclude in the early morning hours with a set by DJ Yotu.
