Approximately 300 hikers will gather this Saturday in Teror for the third edition of the 'Vamos Pa'l Pino' event, which combines physical activity, community, and culture.

The town of Teror will be the center of the third 'Vamos Pa'l Pino' hiking event this Saturday. The initiative, aiming to establish itself on the Canary Islands' event calendar, expects 300 participants from various municipalities and islands. Attendees will traverse three different routes with Teror as their final destination: Las Troyanas (8.7 km), Fontanales (13.8 km), and Pinos de Gáldar (17.4 km).
The event's presentation was attended by local authorities, including the mayor of Teror, José Agustín Arencibia, and councilors for Tourism, Commerce, and Festivities. The high demand for registrations, which quickly filled all available spots, confirms the growing interest in this established proposal.
The initiative stands out for its inclusive and healthy nature, with an average participant age of 56 and a majority of women (56.1%). 'Vamos Pa'l Pino' promotes accessible physical activity, contact with the natural environment, and socialization, strengthening the connection between sport, nature, and community.
Inter-island participation underscores the event's capacity to serve as a meeting point for hiking in the Canary Islands. The Canary Islands Mountaineering Federation actively collaborates, providing specialized guides to ensure route safety. The project remains active year-round through its website and an official mobile application.

"We want 'Vamos Pa'l Pino' to become a year-round benchmark, not just during the Fiestas del Pino, and for Teror to be a meeting point for hikers with routes from all 21 municipalities, even from other islands, like the new Ruta de las Patronas that will be launched this year."

The event is supported by the Ayuntamiento de Teror, Turismo de Gran Canaria, Aguas de Teror, SPAR Gran Canaria, and the Federación Canaria de Montañismo, among other collaborating entities. The mobile application, updated with three new routes, facilitates the autonomous and safe discovery of paths, integrating information about the natural and cultural heritage of Gran Canaria.
