The measure, approved by the council, seeks to end a mixed model that has resulted in a deficit for municipal coffers. Until now, both services operated with a combination of municipal staff and a temporarily subcontracted external company.
The new approach aims to resolve issues such as job insecurity and staff shortages, particularly evident at La Piscina, which faces an employee deficit, inability to expand staff, and difficulties covering sick leave and holidays. In the home assistance service, two of the three municipal employees are currently on leave.
The council's intention is to outsource these services to provide a better response to users and, above all, to offer a higher quality service.
To alleviate the economic deficit of the La Piscina Sports Complex, an increase in monthly user fees is anticipated. This agreement has been made public, and a one-month period will be open for potential objections before the tender process begins.
