Matías Padrón Square will be the venue for two days dedicated to local products, featuring showcookings, workshops, Canarian wine tastings, and musical performances. Six restaurants from the municipality will offer creative tapas made with zero-kilometer products, paired with local wines.
The mayor of El Pinar, Juan Miguel Padrón Brito, invites participation to "enjoy the flavors of our land, discover Herreña tradition, and celebrate local gastronomy." Tourism councilor Magaly González highlights the quality of Herreña and Canarian products, while Primary Sector councilor Jaisan Morales emphasizes the work of restaurant professionals.
The opening will take place on Friday, November 6, at 5:00 PM, attended by the Minister of Agriculture, Narvay Quintero, and Tourism Councilor Magaly González. This will be followed by a demonstration of Silbo Herreño and a showcooking session on "Goat Meat. Our Gastronomic Treasure" by Brian Rodríguez, who will also demonstrate Herreña hamburgers. The day will conclude with music by DJ Monterreina.
On Saturday, the fair opens at 12:00 PM with workshops on Herreña cheesecakes and pastries by Pastelería Zulay, and a tasting of Canarian wines paired with Herreña skewers, organized by the Designation of Origin of El Hierro. Music will also be featured with sets by DJ Jishar, Havana 500, DJ Wes, and DJ Rubén Galván, concluding the event around 12:30 AM.
The fair aims to promote island gastronomy, support local producers and restaurateurs, and boost the municipality's economic and tourist activity. It is organized by the Government of the Canary Islands, through Dinamiza Rural and GMR, along with the El Pinar City Council, with collaboration from Mercahierro and Pescarestinga.
