Agriculture Counselor Narvay Quintero presented the accreditation diploma for Bodega Elysar's gold medal at the Brazil Wine Challenge, one of Latin America's most important wine competitions, this Friday in El Pinar.

The Minister of Agriculture, Livestock, Fisheries, and Food Sovereignty of the Government of the Canary Islands, Narvay Quintero, visited the facilities of Bodega Elysar in El Pinar (El Hierro) this Friday, October 30th. There, he presented its owner, Ambrosio Martín Padrón, with the diploma accrediting the gold medal won by his wine Elysar Vijariego Tinto 2025 at the Brazil Wine Challenge, one of the most significant enological competitions in Latin America.
This recognition joins other awards the winery achieved in 2026. Its wine Elysar 2025 earned a gold medal at the National Competition for Wines from Small D.O.s in Madrid. Additionally, Elysar Baboso Negro 2024 was honored with a gold medal at the Bacchus International Competition 2026, and Elysar Vijariego Tinto 2025 received gold at the Mondial des Vins Extrêmes 2026, an event that recognizes wines from territories with particularly demanding cultivation conditions.
Quintero highlighted that these awards "demonstrate the potential of El Hierro's viticulture and the capacity of small wineries in the Canary Islands to produce top-quality wines that compete at the highest level in international events." He noted that "these awards are also a recognition of the effort of the grape growers and winemakers who keep alive an activity closely linked to our identity and territory."
The company, founded in 2012 by Ambrosio Martín Padrón, cultivates approximately two hectares of its own vineyards in El Pinar, focusing on traditional varieties such as Negramoll, Listán Blanco, Vijariego Blanco, Vijariego Negro, and Baboso. Its annual production is around 8,100 bottles.
Complementing its wine production, the winery offers wine tourism experiences through various tasting events at its facilities, where visitors can learn about, taste, and purchase its products directly.
