The Puerto de la Cruz City Council has approved the fiscal calendar for 2027, establishing voluntary payment periods for various municipal taxes and maintaining measures such as the IBI reduction and a 95% bonus on inheritance capital gains.

The Puerto de la Cruz City Council, through the Department of Finance, has approved the fiscal calendar for the year 2027. This calendar sets voluntary payment periods for different municipal taxes, offering residents, self-employed individuals, and businesses ample time to meet their tax obligations.
The calendar includes four quarterly collection periods for the domestic waste collection fee. Additionally, a period from August 20 to November 26, 2027, is designated for taxes related to public space occupation, terraces, driveways, and parking reservations, among other items.
The mayor of Puerto de la Cruz, Leopoldo Afonso, highlighted that the municipality's economic management aims to guarantee quality public services and facilitate citizens' compliance with their obligations, working towards a more agile and responsible administration.
For his part, the Councilor for Finance, Pedro Antonio Campos, explained that the calendar provides greater flexibility for payment organization, considering the economic reality of families, the self-employed, and businesses. This measure complements other fiscal actions, such as reducing the Property Tax (IBI) rate to 0.52% and offering a 95% bonus on municipal capital gains for children inheriting their parents' primary residence.
Campos also emphasized that the Average Payment Period to Suppliers (PMP) has remained below 30 days since January 1, 2026, which directly benefits small and medium-sized enterprises that require timely payments to conduct their business.
The new fiscal calendar will be applicable during the 2027 fiscal year, coinciding with the entry into force of the new municipal budget. With this approval, the City Council continues to advance in planning its tax obligations and improving municipal economic management procedures.
