Canarias declara prealerta por lluvias en El Hierro, La Palma, La Gomera y Tenerife

Gobierno de Canarias · 2026-10-30

The Government of the Canary Islands, through the Directorate General of Emergencies, has declared a pre-alert situation for rain in El Hierro, La Palma, La Gomera, and Tenerife starting at 9:00 PM on Saturday, October 31st.

This decision is based on information from the State Meteorological Agency and other available sources, applying the Specific Emergency Plan of the Canary Islands for Adverse Meteorological Phenomena Risks (PEFMA). An increase in atmospheric instability is expected due to an isolated low-pressure system west of the archipelago.
Bands of precipitation are anticipated from the west starting late Saturday afternoon, with a higher initial probability of affecting La Palma and El Hierro, where locally heavy showers could be recorded. The instability may progressively shift eastward, extending precipitation to La Gomera and Tenerife, particularly from Sunday morning, November 1st.
The evolution of the low-pressure system shows high uncertainty regarding its position, movement, and the distribution and intensity of precipitation, so changes in forecasts or potential impact on other islands cannot be ruled out. The Directorate General of Emergencies will continue to monitor the situation.
