The Directorate General of Emergencies made this decision based on information provided by the State Meteorological Agency and other available sources, applying the Specific Emergency Plan of the Canary Islands for Risks of Adverse Meteorological Phenomena (PEFMA).
An influx of humid and unstable air is expected, leading to variable conditions with irregularly distributed rainfall. Heavy showers, potentially accompanied by thunderstorms, are anticipated, with an accumulated rainfall of 15 mm in 1 hour and 60 mm in 12 hours.
The alert remains in effect for the Canary Islands, while the previous alert for El Hierro has been concluded.
The Directorate General of Emergencies urges the public to follow the available self-protection advice to prevent risks associated with these weather conditions.
