Marking the World Day of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), celebrated on September 25th, various activities took place at Parque El Cabo in Valverde. The initiative, aimed at all audiences with a special focus on children and adults, sought to bring the 17 global challenges for a more sustainable world closer to the public.
Under the slogan “The 17 challenges for a more sustainable world,” the event aimed to familiarize the population with the Sustainable Development Goals of the 2030 Agenda. Dynamic and accessible methods were used to foster understanding of these challenges and the importance of social involvement in progressing towards a lasting development model.
Through various dynamics, attendees explored the SDGs and reflected on how El Hierro can contribute to their achievement. Actions related to environmental protection, responsible consumption, natural resource preservation, and the general well-being of the population were highlighted.
The event also served as a platform to present proposals and alternatives that promote responsible enjoyment of the island, emphasizing experiences and activities that showcase El Hierro's natural and cultural heritage from a sustainable perspective.
