Hundreds of people walked along the coast of Arrecife this Sunday in the tenth edition of the 'We Walk Against Cancer' walk, organized by the Association of Oncohematological Families of Lanzarote (AFOL) and the Social Welfare Area of the City Council.

The solidarity initiative brought together around 400 participants, demonstrating citizen involvement with cancer patients and their families. Deputy Mayor Echedey Eugenio congratulated the Arrecife society for its response and highlighted the trajectory of AFOL, which celebrates 25 years of commitment and support.
The event began at the Fairgrounds with a welcome from AFOL president Carmen Arrocha and the reading of a manifesto calling for progress in cancer research and resources. Representatives from the Association Against Metastatic Breast Cancer of Fuerteventura also participated.
The walk traversed the coastline, Calle Real, and the area around Charco de San Ginés, accompanied by the batucada group Los Cumbacheros. The march concluded back at the Fairgrounds, uniting awareness, community, and solidarity on the tenth anniversary of the initiative and AFOL's twenty-fifth anniversary.
