The capital of Lanzarote will host the arrival of two significant cruise vessels. The luxurious Crystal Serenity, considered a six-star cruise ship, will dock with 650 American and Australian cruise passengers. This ship, on a six-night voyage, is based in Lisbon, and Arrecife will be its only Canary Islands port of call on this circuit.
Additionally, the city will welcome the British ship Azura, carrying 3,200 passengers and a crew of 1,250. The Azura, traveling from Tangier and a frequent visitor to Arrecife's ports, will remain in the capital until 6:00 PM before continuing its journey to Santa Cruz de Tenerife.
The Crystal Serenity, arriving from Agadir, is scheduled to dock in Arrecife at 7:00 AM and will then proceed towards Lisbon. This cruise ship has recently undergone renovations to enhance personalized service and onboard comfort. Its company, Crystal, has received accolades for its luxury cruise operations, being named the best mid-size ocean cruise line by Travel + Leisure readers in their World’s Best Awards in both 2025 and 2026.
The port of Arrecife, affiliated with the State Ports network, is the sole port in Lanzarote authorized for passport control of passengers arriving from third countries. This capability enhances demand from shipping companies, as many circuits reaching the Canary Islands originate from ports like Tangier, Casablanca, or Agadir. As a port of the European Union, Arrecife serves as the external border of the Schengen Area.
The Crystal Serenity, measuring 250 meters in length and with a gross tonnage of 68,870 GT, is part of Crystal Cruises, owned by A&K Travel Group. The stop will allow passengers to explore various points of the city and areas of the island, as well as participate in scheduled activities during their stay.
The mayor of Arrecife, Yonathan de León, highlighted that cruise activity generates 30 percent of the total revenue for the Port Authority of Las Palmas from cruise operations in the province. Furthermore, it boosts income for the city's hospitality, commercial, leisure, and transport sectors.
