The eighth edition of the Traslación Festival concludes this Saturday, October 31st, in Arrecife, Lanzarote, with two contemporary dance performances set to take place in two emblematic venues of the capital: the Casa del Miedo and the Castillo de San Gabriel. The initiative, supported by Cultura Arrecife and directed by councilwoman Abigail González, aims to introduce the public to different languages of movement and scenic creation in unconventional spaces.
Saturday's program will begin at 11:00 AM at the Casa del Miedo, near El Charco de San Ginés. The lineup includes Mareas encontradas, a community dance creation directed by Laura Marrero; A flor de piel, a collective creation by AFOL and Acerina H. Toledo, the Festival's director; Phi, by the company Enbedanza from Tenerife; and the presentation of the Traslación 26 grants, featuring Paula Coll, Maya Sáenz, and Adassa Ferreiro from Lanzarote.
In the afternoon, starting at 6:00 PM, the area around the Castillo de San Gabriel will host another session. Performers will include the company Sonia Rodríguez (based between Berlin and Gran Canaria) with In diesem Moment; Italian artist Veronica Parlagreco with Giuiuzza; Site-specific by Paloma Hurtado and David Minguillón from Tenerife; and Desvelo by Alejandro Moya from Madrid. The festival thus brings together works by artists and companies from various locations, alongside creators linked to the cultural scene of the Canary Islands.
Saturday's program continues the offerings from last Friday's Festival Traslación, which, according to Abigail González, saw an excellent response and participation. On that day, the Pío XII square in Titerroy hosted an activity for schoolchildren, while the plaza de Las Palmas served as the stage for the pieces Pies de gallina, Vibra!, and La memoria del agua. The Parranda Marinera de Buches also participated, adding coastal seguidillas, the Malagueña de Arrecife, and the Sorondongo to the event.
