The Canarias Manga Festival kicked off today in Puerto del Rosario, offering a program dedicated to fans of manga, anime, video games, and K-pop until October 25th.

This new edition of the festival, organized with the collaboration of the Cabildo de Fuerteventura and the Ayuntamiento de Puerto del Rosario, is taking place at the Plaza de la Paz in the island's capital. The event aims to bring Asian culture and animation closer to young people.
Among the notable guests are Santiago Segura and Florentino Fernández, along with a wide representation of artists and content creators. Carmen Alonso, the Minister of New Technologies, invited participation, emphasizing that disciplines like digital art and manga narrative are "windows to the world and powerful tools for expression."
The mayor of Puerto del Rosario, David de Vera, thanked the collaboration for "bringing back the culture of manga and anime to the streets of the island's capital," responding to a youth demand. He was accompanied by Nuria Cabrera, Minister of Finance and Economic Promotion, Jenifer Pérez, Councilor for Youth, Councilor David de León, and Sergio Falcón from the organization.
The program includes voice actors such as Luis Posada, Claudio Serrano, and Laura Pastor, as well as prominent figures in Spanish animation like Carlos Biern and Elena Velasco. Content creators like Guinxu, Mikecrack, Invictor, Timba VK, Mondongo, and Masterchen F will also participate.
The festival will feature the presence of K-pop choreographer Jay Kim, considered a global reference. Local talent will be represented by filmmaker Adrián Tejero and dancer Joel Reyes. The event will also offer a dedicated space for gaming, exhibitions, a crafts zone, cosplay contests, and K-pop masterclasses.
