Dancer and choreographer Guadalupe Torres is leading a flamenco artistic residency this week at the Convento de Santo Domingo in Teguise, involving professionals from Poland, Brazil, Peru, China, and Spain to create the piece JALEO.

For five days, participants are intensively working on the creation of JALEO, a piece that will premiere as part of the eighth edition of the Traslación Dance Festival.
The residency is jointly organized by the Traslación Festival, directed by Acerina H. Toledo, and Danzarote Flamenco, driven by Guadalupe Torres, a prominent figure in contemporary flamenco and a multiple award winner at Madrid's Spanish and Flamenco Dance Competition.
The outcome of this residency can be seen this Sunday, October 25th, at 6:00 PM, at the La Caleta de Famara pier. JALEO is programmed alongside three other works by national dance award winners: A OJO, by Dácil González and Carmen Fumero; KYKLOS, by Javito Mario; and Selva, by the company Daniel Abreu.
