The incident happened shortly before 9:00 AM, causing significant material damage, though fortunately, there were no serious personal injuries. The vehicle, a recently registered high-end SUV, mounted the sidewalk and ended up directly impacting the store's large display window.
The driver remained at the scene to await authorities, according to eyewitnesses, including users of the nearby sports center.
Several patrols from the Port Authority Police arrived minutes later to begin the necessary investigations to clarify the causes of the accident. The vehicle, which showed visible damage to its front, was removed around 10:00 AM.
The area was partially cordoned off to facilitate the removal of the car, as well as the cleanup of broken glass and affected merchandise. Traffic in the parking lot returned to normal by 10:30 AM. The Canary Emergency Service (SUC) was not required.
