In the coming weeks, El Reducto beach in Arrecife will benefit from an upgraded lifeguard and surveillance service. The Arrecife City Council has completed the tender process, selecting the Tenerife-based entity Zuma Servicios y Socorrismo to manage this crucial task for a two-year duration.
The total investment for this service amounts to 446,200 euros, a figure below the initial budget thanks to the competition among the six proposals submitted. The contract includes the option for an extension in mid-2028. The awarded company is required to ensure a minimum of four professionals are present daily on the beach to guarantee bathers' safety.
Concurrently, regarding beach improvements, the Arrecife City Council plans to tender soon for the installation of an accessible ramp walkway at El Cable. This infrastructure aims to enhance water accessibility, although its implementation is pending final approval from the General Directorate of Coasts and Management, according to local sources.
