The Arrecife City Council has approved a sports subsidy call totaling 550,000 euros, aimed at schools and entities within the municipality.

The initiative, announced by Mayor Yonathan de León and the councilwoman for the area, Eli Merino, seeks to support both the training of young athletes and the participation of clubs in official competitions.
The funding is divided into two main lines: 300,000 euros will be allocated to sports schools for the promotion of grassroots sports (pre-benjamin to cadet categories), while the remaining 250,000 euros will support sports entities in youth and senior categories, thereby strengthening federated competitive sports.
Subsidies will be awarded through a competitive bidding process. The period for interested parties to submit their applications opened this weekend.

"Sport is one of the best investments a public administration can make because it generates healthy living, values, integration, and opportunities for our children and young people."

Yonathan de León · Mayor of Arrecife

"This aid represents significant support for Arrecife's sports entities, enabling them to continue developing quality projects, promoting sports practice, and improving their athletes' training and competition conditions."

Eli Merino · Sports Councilwoman of Arrecife
