The Gran Canarian team began its pre-season on July 29, aiming to be in the best possible condition for the start of the official competition, which includes the Spanish Super Cup against Súper Amara Bera Bera on September 6.
The squad, led by Dejan Ojeda, faces a demanding season with the Liga Guerreras Iberdrola, the Copa de la Reina, the Supercopa, and the EHF European League. The addition of seven new players makes these initial weeks crucial for adaptation and group integration, combining physical, technical, and tactical work.
Brazilian player Fernanda Lima is already in Gran Canaria and has joined training. After completing the necessary procedures for her international transfer, her debut is expected in the upcoming international tournament.
Goalkeeper Lulu Guerra highlighted the intensity of the pre-season but emphasized the importance of gaining rhythm, fitness, and cohesion. She praised the group's intensity and enthusiasm, as well as the good integration of the new arrivals, in preparation for the season's first title.
The V Servatur Costa Mogán Women's Handball International Tournament, to be presented on August 13, will be one of the first major tests. Participating teams include Rocasa Gran Canaria, Zonzamas Plus Car Lanzarote, BM Porriño, and Michalovce from Slovakia. The tournament will serve to accumulate playing time and competitive rhythm.
Navarrese winger Uxue Morentin expressed her satisfaction with the welcome and ease of integration, and stated her eagerness to debut in the International Tournament.
August's preparation calendar includes the Porriño Tournament on August 21 and 22, where they will face Conservas Orbe Zendal BM Porriño, Mecalia Atlético Guardés, and Lobas Alimerka Oviedo. Subsequently, on August 26 and 29, the Copa Gobierno de Canarias will be played against Zonzamas.
