The shoulder of the entrance lane to the airport, located after the bridge, has become a regular parking spot, apparently irregular, for vehicles of travelers and workers. Recently, a proliferation of cars in a state of abandonment has been observed, posing an obstacle to the execution of the area's improvement project.
The works, recently awarded by Public Works, could begin in September, provided that the prior removal of unusable vehicles is achieved. The project has a budget of 1.64 million euros and will be carried out by the company Hormiconsa, according to previous information.
The planned intervention includes significant improvements to the bridge and the tunnel under the highway, as well as the optimization of the rainwater collection channel, which is currently unprotected and receives waste. The main focus of action will be on the link between the LZ-2 highway and the aerodrome entrance.
The project will cover an area of 23,500 square meters in the vicinity of the road connecting the LZ-2 with the airport. One of the most notable innovations will be the installation of decorative sheet metal cladding at the tunnel access points, an area where numerous vehicles are currently concentrated on the shoulder.
