The Popular Party (PP) of Tías has expressed its rejection of the recent installation of new streetlights on the LZ-30 road, passing through Masdache, arguing that the infrastructure alters the natural space's conditions.

The political party believes that the new row of seven-meter-high poles, carried out by the City Council, represents a further example of the "lack of sensitivity and respect" from the municipal government, formed by PSOE and Podemos. According to the PP, an area of significant natural value has been industrialized.
Kiko Aparicio, the PP's spokesperson in the municipality, denounced that the local government, despite giving lessons on sustainability and environmental protection, acts in the opposite way. He described the situation as a "permanent exercise in cynicism, political incoherence, and environmental demagoguery".
The popular leader regretted that the mayor, José Juan Cruz Saavedra, does not understand that landscape protection goes beyond institutional speeches. He reminded the local government that the design of public works, the choice of lighting, and the placement of infrastructure are crucial for landscape protection. "What we are seeing in Masdache is the exact opposite: actions that definitively alter the image of the town," he concluded.
