The National Police have arrested a 43-year-old man in Arrecife, Lanzarote, suspected of multiple counts of forced burglaries in residential storage units and for escaping from a correctional facility.

The investigation began after a report of a burglary in a residential building, where the perpetrator forced the main door to access a storage unit and steal various items. Surveillance footage helped investigators identify the suspect, known for property crimes.
Officers located and arrested the alleged perpetrator in Arrecife. At the time of his arrest, tools likely used for forced entry were seized.
Checks revealed the detainee was serving a sentence and had failed to return after a work permit granted in late April. The arrested individual, with extensive criminal records, has been handed over to the competent judicial authority.
