The state company confirmed the rescue, which was carried out by the crew of the Salvamar Al Nair approximately 87 kilometers off the island's eastern coast. The expedition was composed entirely of people of sub-Saharan origin.
The rescued individuals were transferred to the port of Arrecife, arriving around 11:45 PM. One of the migrants, a male, required medical attention and was taken to the Lanzarote University Hospital Doctor José Molina Orosa for a minor ankle injury.
