The Guía City Council hosted the Municipal School Council meeting, a key event for educational planning that included the participation of principals from the municipality's educational centers and family representatives through the AMPAs. The session focused on needs, proposals, and initiatives of interest in the educational field.
The meeting was attended by the Mayor of Guía, Alfredo Gonçalves Ferreira, and the Councilor for Education, Alejandro Rivero Díaz, along with directors from various centers such as IES Guía, CIF Noroeste, CEIP Nicolás Aguiar, CEIP Miguel Santiago, CEIP Luis Cortí, CEO Luján Pérez, CEIP Juan Arencibia Sosa, CEIP Piedra Molino, CEE Marente, CEIP La Dehesa-San Juan, the Official School of Languages, as well as representatives from the AMPAs.
During the meeting, the importance of maintaining direct and constant communication between the City Council, educational centers, and families was emphasized. The goal is to foster dialogue spaces that allow for firsthand understanding of each center's specific needs and to jointly advance on issues affecting the entire educational community.

The Councilor for Education, Alejandro Rivero Díaz, highlighted the role of the Municipal School Council as a fundamental body for participation and dialogue. He stressed that "having the participation of directors and families is basic to having a broad vision of Guía's educational reality. We want this to be a useful space where proposals and needs can be raised and where we can seek solutions together." He also assured that "we continue working to ensure our centers are in the best possible condition."
This meeting, marking the start of the 2026-2027 school year, was based on dialogue regarding matters of interest to the entire educational community. Both the mayor and the Councilor for Education emphasized the importance of keeping communication channels open between the centers and the City Council to continue working on improving the educational reality of the municipality.
