The San Bartolomé City Council has introduced a new reinforced service for street cleaning, gardening, and public space maintenance, backed by an investment exceeding 5 million euros over the next five years.

The contract, signed in 2025 with FCC Medio Ambiente, includes the deployment of 28 professionals equipped with new materials to perform their daily duties. This team will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and good condition of the municipality's streets and green areas.
Daily tasks will encompass street sweeping and cleaning, sanitizing container surroundings, public waste collection, weed removal, and tree pit maintenance. Additionally, cleaning of grates, storm drains, and sewers will be carried out, along with manual cleaning of public spaces and beaches, and brush clearing on roads, rural paths, verges, and unpaved streets.
The expanded service also covers the disinfection of roads and surfaces, cleaning of children's playgrounds, and comprehensive gardening work, including the management of plant waste. These actions aim for continuous improvement of the urban and natural environment within the municipality.

"This new contract reflects a clear commitment to strengthening public services. We have significantly increased the workforce by 27% to ensure a cleaner, better-maintained, and more sustainable municipality."
