The San Bartolomé City Council has reaffirmed its commitment to building a new health center in Playa Honda, emphasizing that the project is an urgent necessity for the local population.

During an open public meeting, the local government sought to provide reassurance regarding the project's status. They stated that the City Council has already fulfilled all its obligations, including land transfer, technical project drafting, and the necessary urban planning modifications.
The current facility, which operates as a medical clinic, has become obsolete due to the significant population growth Playa Honda has experienced in recent years. This area has become one of the most densely populated parts of Lanzarote, rendering the existing facilities inadequate to meet the actual needs of the residents.

"We have done the work that was required of us because we know that Playa Honda cannot continue to rely solely on a clinic that no longer reflects the current population reality."
