Vehicle registrations in Lanzarote and La Graciosa have seen a significant 28% increase in the first quarter of the year, with almost 1,500 new units added to the vehicle fleet.

Between January and March, the seven municipalities of Lanzarote and La Graciosa registered a total of 1,484 vehicle registrations. This figure represents a 28% increase compared to the same period last year, according to the balance provided by the Cabildo Data Center.
By municipality, Arrecife led new registrations with 369 units, closely followed by San Bartolomé with 334. It is anticipated that this order could reverse in the future, especially with the increase in purchases by rental companies in the Playa Honda area.
Other municipalities also contributed to this growth: Teguise added 287 registrations, Tías recorded 217, Yaiza reached 153, Tinajo finalized 97 (a large part in March), and Haría accounted for 12 new units.
Based on the first-quarter results, there is a high probability of surpassing the total of 6,665 registrations recorded in 2025. The highest figure in the region's history was reached in 2006, with 11,588 registered vehicles.
Traditionally, San Bartolomé has been the reference municipality for registrations, while Haría usually occupies the opposite end of the statistic.
