The Casa Amarilla, an emblematic building in Arrecife and former seat of the Cabildo, has regained its splendor after six months of renovation works.

The three facades of the historic building, located on Calle Real in Arrecife, have been completely repaired, including the replacement of damaged or missing tiles. Additionally, interior improvements have been made to eliminate dampness and other damage.
The works, which involved an investment of 195,000 euros, were carried out by Tragsa. The technical project, approved by the Arrecife City Council in the summer of 2025 at the request of the Cabildo, included the treatment of walls, elimination of dampness, restoration of tiling and decorative elements, as well as improvements to the clock room, all under criteria of minimal intervention and maximum reversibility.
The selection of Tragsa occurred in 2023, after the company Progresa Cinco Infraestructuras Eficientes withdrew from executing the works during previous attempts to adapt the historic building.

"It is our obligation that both residents and tourists visiting us in the capital can enjoy and admire an emblem for the island in the best conditions."

María Jesús Tovar · Island Vice-President
The island president, Oswaldo Betancorr, highlighted at the end of 2025 that the reform "responds to this Government's commitment to care for the historic buildings that exist on the island."
