The beach on the island of Fuerteventura received a score of 4.8 out of 5, with 5,370 comments, placing it just behind Platja de Muro in the Balearic Islands. Located in the municipality of Pájara, within the Jandía Natural Park, Cofete is recognized for its pristine character, its vastness, and the impressive surrounding landscape, defined by the Atlantic Ocean, the Jandía mountains, and kilometers of golden sand.
The ranking, which analyzes scores and reviews on Google Maps, highlights Cofete's value for its natural environment and the positive perception of users. Its high position reflects the interest in less crowded spaces and landscapes away from conventional tourist routes.
Fuerteventura features three of the top five best-rated beaches in Spain, including Sotavento de Jandía Beach and the Grandes Playas de Corralejo. The national classification places Cofete ahead of other well-known Spanish shores like Mataleñas Beach in Cantabria.
Despite its appeal, accessing Cofete is challenging, requiring travel along a mountainous road that is part of the experience of reaching this natural space. Sea conditions can be variable, and the area is exposed to waves, so caution is advised.
In addition to its national recognition, Cofete Beach ranks among the top ten beaches in Europe in 2026, securing the sixth position. The Sotavento de Jandía Beach also appears on the European list. The presence of multiple Fuerteventura beaches in both rankings underscores the island's significance in user preferences for coastal destinations.
