Fuerteventura General Hospital Achieves a 9 in Patient Satisfaction

The Canary Islands Health Service user survey highlights the positive feedback for medical, nursing, and administrative staff.

The Fuerteventura General Hospital has achieved a score of 9 out of 10 in the 2025 Hospital Discharge Satisfaction Survey (ESAH), according to official data from the Government of the Canary Islands.

The hospital, affiliated with the Canary Islands Health Department, measured the perceived quality and satisfaction of patients treated at the first public health facility in Fuerteventura. The results show a high level of conformity, with 97.8% of patients satisfied or very satisfied with the treatment from medical staff and 99% with the nursing staff's attention.
Satisfaction with administrative staff reached 97.3%, while the treatment from ward assistants was positively rated by 98.8% of users. Cleaning staff also received a high score, with 96.9% positive ratings.
Regarding medical services, the neurology (9.56), pediatrics (9.45), and otorhinolaryngology (9.28) units received the highest ratings. Patients rated the care in the maternity ward as good or very good in 100% of cases, and received detailed information on breastfeeding benefits (96.6%) and newborn care (98.3%).
The degree of privacy guaranteed in rooms and during tests was considered good or very good by 98.4% of patients. Furthermore, 97.4% of admitted patients reported that the ward staff addressed them by their name. Aspects such as cleanliness, signage, and noise levels also received positive evaluations.
The study was based on a sample of 429 patients, of whom 52% were women and 48% were men.
