The film El Ser Querido, directed by Rodrigo Sorogoyen and featuring Fuerteventura as its main setting, has been selected to compete for the Palme d'Or at the Cannes Film Festival, scheduled from May 12 to 23.

The cinematic production, starring Javier Bardem and Victoria Luengo, utilized various locations on the island, including Punta de Jandía and areas within the municipalities of Pájara and La Oliva. Filming lasted seven weeks and involved local extras, generating a positive impact on the island's economy and audiovisual sector.

"The great promotion that this type of production represents for the island to continue being a reference destination for the audiovisual sector. These types of shoots generate direct benefits for the local economy, always compatible with respect for our territory and our landscapes."
