“"The potential of the audiovisual industry in Fuerteventura has been more than proven in recent years. So far in 2026, the Island has already hosted three film shoots, both national and international, and the filming of two more feature films and a series is planned before June. Therefore, it is important to continue training our professionals with specialized courses according to industry demands and to continue generating employment and direct benefits for our local economy."

The Fuerteventura Film Commission has unveiled its training program for 2026, offering specialized courses and workshops for professionals and newcomers to the island's audiovisual sector.
This program is structured into two blocks, featuring training activities that are new to Fuerteventura. It will include instructors with extensive experience in nationally and internationally recognized series and films.
The Fuerteventura Film Commission has emphasized its commitment to training, highlighting that the island is experiencing a shift in its filming model. More and more productions are choosing Fuerteventura to carry out all or most of their shoots, which increases the demand for qualified local professionals.
The first block of courses will be held during May, June, and July at the Fuerteventura Training and Congress Palace. It will include unprecedented training on the island, such as a set design course, a screenwriting course, and a sound post-production course.
The set design course, running from May 4 to 8, will be taught by a renowned art director with over 30 years of experience in cinema, series, and television. This program will offer a comprehensive view of the creative process, from conceptualization to the execution of real projects. Registration for this course will open on April 27 and close on April 30.
Additionally, the screenwriting course, titled From Idea to Documentary, will take place from June 22 to 16, led by a screenwriter with two decades of experience in fiction and documentaries. Meanwhile, the sound post-production course, Sound Narration for Film and Television, will be taught by a prominent professional in the sector from July 6 to 10.
Starting in September, a second training block will be launched, covering topics such as Artificial Intelligence in the audiovisual sector and a workshop on updating environmental regulations in natural environments. Two of these courses, set design and sound post-production, are conducted in collaboration with a leading communication group in Spain.
