The Ministry of Public Works of the Government of the Canary Islands has provisionally awarded the control and surveillance service for the airport–Pozo Negro section of the Fuerteventura highway for 3,727,571 euros.

The temporary union of companies (UTE) comprising Sociedad de Ingeniería, Servicios del Territorio y Medio Ambiente, S.A.; Jaraba Ingenieros Urbanistas, S.L.P.; and Evalúa Soluciones Ambientales, S.L. has been proposed as the contractor to supervise this key project.
This contract will ensure technical monitoring, quality control, environmental supervision, and compliance with health and safety regulations during the construction work.
The project covers an approximately 17-kilometer stretch of the Puerto del Rosario–Morro Jable road, which will create a continuous high-capacity link from Corralejo to Pozo Negro, connecting strategic points on the island.
The project includes the construction of Fuerteventura's first road tunnel, about 1.2 kilometers long, along with false tunnels and a 190-meter viaduct over the La Torre ravine. New interchanges will also be built to improve connections with other major roads.
