The 2026 olive pressing campaign in Fuerteventura has concluded, resulting in the production of 15,250 liters of virgin olive oil by the Pozo Negro Experimental Farm's oil mill.

The oil mill at the Pozo Negro Experimental Farm, managed by the Agriculture, Livestock, and Fisheries department of the Cabildo of Fuerteventura, concluded its 2026 olive pressing campaign this Friday. During this period, a total of 149,000 kilograms of olives were processed, sourced from 240 batches provided by 145 producers on the island.
The outcome of this campaign was the production of 15,250 liters of olive oil, equating to an approximate average yield of 10.23 liters per 100 kilograms of olives pressed. The reported figures may slightly vary until the final closure of the oil mill's operations, scheduled for Friday, October 30th.
The President of the Cabildo of Fuerteventura, Lola García, along with the Minister of Agriculture, Livestock, and Fisheries, Enrique Pérez, expressed their gratitude to the olive growers for their efforts in maintaining the product's quality. They highlighted that the effective coordination with the Experimental Farm's staff and favorable weather conditions contributed to a successful campaign.
The olive oil production adhered to the required hygienic-sanitary conditions for its manufacturing and passed all corresponding analytical tests.
