Fuerteventura Receives €60,000 for Tourism and Heritage Projects
The Canary Islands Government grant will fund the drafting of four projects to improve viewpoints, create an astronomical observation space, and recover lime production heritage.

The Government of the Canary Islands has awarded a €60,000 grant to the Fuerteventura Council for the drafting of four projects aimed at diversifying the island's tourism offerings and enhancing visitor experiences.
The Ministry of Tourism and Employment of the Government of the Canary Islands has granted a direct subsidy of €60,000 to the Fuerteventura Council. These funds will be used for the drafting of four execution projects, each receiving €15,000, with the goal of planning future tourism infrastructures. The aim is to diversify the island's offerings and enrich the experience for both residents and visitors.
The projects will focus on improving viewpoints and landscape observation points, creating a space for astronomical observation, recovering historical and ethnographic sites linked to lime production, and planning a tourist mobility network to organize access to the island's resources. These are encompassed under the names ‘Ventanas al Paisaje de Fuerteventura’ (Windows to Fuerteventura's Landscape), ‘Ventana al Cielo’ (Window to the Sky), ‘Paisajes de la Cal’ (Landscapes of Lime), and ‘Puntos Modales de Movilidad Turística’ (Modal Points of Tourist Mobility).
The ‘Ventanas al Paisaje de Fuerteventura’ project aims to enhance enclaves of scenic, natural, and cultural interest. Meanwhile, ‘Ventana al Cielo’ plans a space for astronomical observation, leveraging the island's prime conditions. ‘Paisajes de la Cal’ will focus on recovering and highlighting sites related to this traditional activity, while ‘Puntos Modales de Movilidad Turística’ will define a network to improve access organization and promote more sustainable mobility.

The projects will define technical solutions incorporating criteria for accessibility, landscape integration, environmental sustainability, and heritage conservation. The subsidy is part of the Canary Islands Strategy for Insular Tourism Infrastructures, with the maximum deadline for drafting and submitting the projects set for December 31, 2027.
