The political group acknowledges the Government of the Canary Islands' efforts for Fuerteventura's primary sector but emphasizes the need for greater involvement from the island's main institution. The PP's complaint centers on the perception that the Cabildo de Fuerteventura is not providing adequate support to mitigate the effects of double insularity and rising prices stemming from the conflict in Iran.
Claudio Gutiérrez, spokesperson for the PP in the Cabildo de Fuerteventura, praised the work of the Canarian Government, of which his party is a part, highlighting its commitment to a sector he considers "vital for our identity and economy" on the island.
Among the initiatives promoted by the regional executive, the PP mentions the expansion of credits for the agro-environmental line and a package of measures recently approved by the Governing Council. These actions, championed by popular councilor Manuel Domínguez, aim to counteract the increased costs generated by the war in Iran and subsequent inflation.
Our ranchers and farmers cannot keep waiting: it is time to work together to prevent the current abandonment of Fuerteventura's rural areas.
Despite this regional aid, the PP insists on the lack of support from the Cabildo de Fuerteventura, calling for joint action to prevent the decline of the primary sector on the island.
