Ignacio Escolar, director of elDiario.es, will be the protagonist this Thursday, June 11, of the A Contracultura 2026 festival, organized by the City Council of Puerto del Rosario. The event, which spans various disciplines including literature, theater, investigative journalism, and music, will conclude on Friday with a concert by Melón Diesel.
Escolar's participation will be in an interview format, led by journalist Nicolás Castellano from Cadena SER. They will address the challenges of journalism in the era of disinformation and digital surveillance. The meeting will take place at 7:30 PM in the Casa de la Cultura of Puerto del Rosario.
Ignacio Escolar (Burgos, 1975) is a well-known political analyst. He began his career in the news section of Telecinco, focusing on the Internet, and served as deputy director of La Voz de Almería. He later directed the newspaper Público before co-founding elDiario.es in September 2012 with other journalists.
The A Contracultura festival began its activities on Tuesday with a graffiti exhibition and the presentation of the book 'El verano de los inocentes' by Roger Mateos. On Wednesday, the theater company Antagonista de Teatro performed 'Los centros de Lorca' in the Plaza de la Paz. On Thursday evening, there will be a film score concert in the same square, and on Friday the 12th, Melón Diesel will offer a tribute to Héroes del Silencio.
