The La Oliva Town Council has finalized the selection process for its 2025-2026 Employment Plan, incorporating 70 workers who will reinforce municipal services for ten months.

The selection procedure, which began in December 2025 with candidate interviews, concluded in March 2026 with the final interviews and contract formalization. This initiative is part of a collaboration agreement between the Canarian Employment Service (SCE) and the Canarian Federation of Municipalities (FECAM), designed to promote employment initiatives for groups facing greater difficulties in labor market integration.
The new hires cover a variety of professional profiles, including social graduates, administrative technicians, cleaning and construction laborers, bricklayers, and tourist information officers, among other roles essential for the ordinary functioning of municipal services.

"This type of initiative allows us to generate employment and strengthen essential public services, in addition to offering new job opportunities to residents of the municipality."

Isaí Blanco · Mayor of La Oliva
The Councilor for Local Development and Personnel, Alexandra Martín, highlighted the coordinated work among the various areas involved, especially Local Development, and emphasized the usefulness of these programs in improving the labor integration of unemployed residents in the municipality.
Thanks to this plan, key areas such as infrastructure maintenance, cleaning, environment, social services, tourism, administration, and sociocultural activities will be strengthened. The “La Oliva Emplea 2025-2026” project receives a subsidy of 446,030.34 euros from the Canarian Employment Service, supplemented by a municipal contribution of 730,152.65 euros, bringing the total investment for the program to over 1.17 million euros.
