The new stop, which began operating on Monday, July 13, aims to improve road safety, accessibility, and comfort for public transport users in a key commercial area of the island. Until now, the industrial park lacked an integrated stop, hindering access to the service.
The President of the Cabildo, Lola García, highlighted that the initiative responds to a "historic demand" and reaffirmed the institution's commitment to extending public transport to all points on the island with the highest demand. For his part, the Minister of Transport, Luiso González, explained the necessity of the stop due to the lack of an adapted pick-up point in the area.
The project included the adaptation of the platform and the installation of a shelter. Lines 16, 13, and the conventional line 3 will operate at this new location, defined by safety and convenience criteria.
Both García and González thanked the collaboration of the Antigua City Council, whose new municipal government expedited the necessary authorizations for the launch of the stop.
This initiative is part of the Cabildo of Fuerteventura's strategy to improve mobility. The corporation has renewed 50% of its interurban transport fleet with European Next Generation funds, increased frequencies, implemented new lines such as the 3 exprés, and added historically demanded stops. Furthermore, the bus service remains free.
