A 42-year-old driver was rescued after a concrete mixer truck overturned on the FV-109, Lajares roundabout, in the municipality of La Oliva, Fuerteventura, and was subsequently revived from cardiac arrest.

The Emergency and Safety Coordination Center (CECOES) 112 of the Government of the Canary Islands received an alert on 08/05/2026 at 09:48 AM reporting the rollover of a concrete mixer truck on the FV-109, roundabout of Lajares, municipality of La Oliva. The driver was trapped inside the vehicle.
The activated emergency services included the Canary Emergency Service (SUC), the Fire and Rescue Service of La Oliva, and the Guardia Civil. The multisectoral coordinator of the 112 managed the activation of the necessary resources.
Firefighters from the Fire and Rescue Service of La Oliva were responsible for rescuing the driver from inside the truck and securing the area for the landing and takeoff of the medicalized helicopter.
Medical personnel from the SUC, including a medicalized ambulance and a basic life support ambulance, attended to the victim. The 42-year-old man was revived from cardiac arrest and transported in serious condition by a medicalized ambulance to the Fuerteventura General Hospital.
The Guardia Civil initiated the corresponding report and collaborated with the firefighters to ensure safety during the aircraft's maneuvers.
