A 40-year-old man has died this Saturday after a collision between a car and a motorcycle on the GC-60 road, passing through the municipality of Tejeda, Gran Canaria.

The incident occurred in the early afternoon when the operations room of the Canary Islands Emergency and Safety Coordinating Center (CECOES) 1-1-2 received an alert reporting the collision at approximately kilometer 4.5 of the island road. Those reporting the incident indicated that the motorcycle's occupant was injured and required urgent medical assistance.
Emergency resources were immediately activated. Two ambulances from the Canary Islands Emergency Medical Service (SUC)—one basic life support and another advanced life support—along with officers from the Guardia Civil and personnel from the Road Conservation Service of the Gran Canaria Cabildo, were dispatched to the scene.
Despite the rapid intervention of the medical staff, the SUC professionals could only confirm the motorcyclist's death due to the extreme severity of the injuries sustained in the impact.
Guardia Civil officers were responsible for securing the victim's body until the arrival of the judicial authority and for conducting the corresponding accident report. Meanwhile, personnel from the Road Conservation Service carried out road cleaning operations to restore full safety on the route.
