Maritime Rescue has successfully rescued 47 migrants traveling in a dinghy, which was spotted by a fishing boat approximately 50 kilometers south of Gran Canaria, with their destination being the Arguineguín pier.

The rescue operation took place this Saturday, when the patrol boat Urania responded to the distress call. The occupants, predominantly of Maghrebi origin, are reported to be in good health, according to sources from Maritime Rescue.
The dinghy was initially sighted by the fishing vessel Julio y Olga, which remained alongside it until the arrival of the rescue boat. The Urania departed to assist the migrants around 11:00 AM (Canary Islands time), following the fishing boat's alert.
The Maritime Rescue vessel is expected to arrive at the Arguineguín pier, located in the southwest of Gran Canaria, at approximately 2:40 PM (Canary Islands time) this Saturday.
This rescue follows another recent intervention in the Canary Islands. On Friday afternoon, a rescue vessel escorted a cayuco with 159 people on board to the island of El Hierro. From this group, two individuals required medical attention and were transferred to the Hospital Insular Nuestra Señora de los Reyes.
