The paths of Andrew Albicy and Dreamland Gran Canaria have officially diverged. The French point guard, who arrived on the island in the summer of 2020, leaves the claretian squad after becoming one of the most significant players in the club's recent history.
Albicy's arrival took place during a period of restrictions due to COVID-19. Coming from Russia's Zenit Saint Petersburg, the player was already familiar with the Spanish league from his three-year stint with MoraBanc Andorra. Few could have predicted then that he would become such a pivotal figure for Club Baloncesto Gran Canaria.

Andrew Albicy concludes his tenure in Gran Canaria after six full seasons, representing the yellow colors in competitions such as the Liga Endesa, the EuroCup, and the Basketball Champions League. During his time, he played a total of 308 games and dished out 1,281 assists, a figure that places him as the team's all-time leader in the professional era, surpassing names like Albert Oliver, Tomás Bellas, or Marcus Norris. Furthermore, he leaves as the player with the most steals (444), ahead of Jim Moran.
In his six years as the point guard for the Gran Canarian team, Albicy participated in three editions of the Copa del Rey, reaching the semifinals once. He also played in the Liga Endesa Playoffs five times. However, his greatest achievement was reaching the EuroCup final on two occasions, being a key component in winning the title in 2023.
