The town of Arucas is hosting the 38th edition of the Km.0 Gran Canaria Fair at the Parque de las Flores this weekend, bringing together 45 producers from 17 municipalities.

The 38th edition of the Km.0 Gran Canaria Fair is being held this weekend at the Parque de las Flores in Arucas, coinciding with the Fiestas de San Juan Bautista. The event has gathered 45 producers from 17 municipalities across the island.
This fair is consolidating itself as a key space for the promotion of local products and for establishing direct contact between producers and consumers from Gran Canaria. The Minister of Economic Development of the Cabildo de Gran Canaria, Minerva Alonso, and the mayor of Arucas, Juan Jesús Facundo, attended the inauguration.
Minerva Alonso highlighted the initiative's importance for strengthening the primary sector, boosting the local economy, and promoting responsible consumption habits. She emphasized the growing citizen commitment to proximity products, which generate wealth, protect the landscape, and foster more sustainable development.
The minister also pointed out that supporting local products is a strategic line for the Cabildo de Gran Canaria, and that fairs like this showcase the quality and diversity of the island's food products, strengthening the circular economy and the connection between the countryside and the city.
Throughout its previous editions, the Km.0 Gran Canaria Fair has built a collaborative network involving over 385 local producers, boosting the economic and social fabric linked to the island's primary sector.
On Saturday and Sunday, the Parque de las Flores transforms into a showcase for Gran Canaria's agri-food production, allowing citizens to purchase products cultivated and made on the island, learn about their origin, and support more sustainable consumption models.
The event is supported by the Ayuntamiento de Arucas, the Consejería de Desarrollo Económico, Industria, Comercio y Artesanía del Cabildo de Gran Canaria, the Cámara de Comercio de Gran Canaria, Turismo de Gran Canaria, the Instituto Canario de Calidad Agroalimentaria del Gobierno de Canarias, Cajasiete, and Gran Canaria Mosaico.
